Grandia II, Desktop Computer
The original Grandia, developed by Game Arts, proved to be such a hugely successful RPG that a sequel was developed, published by Rayman creators, Ubi Soft. Released on Dreamcast, then on PlayStation 2, Grandia 2 is now coming to perhaps the most powerful polygon pushing machine of them all, PC. Set at the scene of a giant earthquake, the evil devil, Valmar, has awoken and is once again on a mission to destroy the world. It doesn't take Valmar long to thrust the world into a war between good and evil gods. After discovering his destiny, Ryudo (you) teams up with a host of unexpected heroes and friends to rescue the land from peril. The first and possibly last PC version of the series, Grandia 2 has been given an authentic Japanese feel, featuring some lovely cute and colourful graphics. And unlike its successful console counterparts, the PC version, although dependant on the accompanying graphics card, RAM and processor, can run the game in higher resolutions that provide a great level of detail and look stunning. When beginning a game you can have up to four players in your party at any one time. As you progress, the story unfolds in a seemingly complex way, and is showcased with some truly stunning FMV sequences. Regarding actual gameplay, Grandia 2 takes place, expectedly, in full 3D real-time environments. The game also incorporates a tactical battle system that allows for strategic planning and execution of combat manoeuvres with a real-time interface. Typically, Grandia 2 features many fantasy aspects, such as spells, some of which are spectacular to watch. There are also a variety of special attacks and combos that must be learned. Remember: Grandia 2 is a world where magic reigns and monsters lurk. Grandia 2 places itself alongside some of the greatest RPGs ever to be created. It's an enthralling game that deserves a place at the top of the charts. Super-duper graphics card comes recommended for the ultimate Grandia experience!

Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryMany who grew up in the seventies and thereafter remember Roald Dahl fondly as their favourite author. The story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is undoubtedly his most famous creation of all, followi...
