A big screen success often leads to a video game conversion at some point, and this game is no exception. Once dominated by Lara Croft, the third-person adventure genre takes a leap towards the male gender with Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. While The Infernal Machine isn't Tomb Raider, the similarities between the two are uncanny. Level design and character animations are almost identical. But with the success Tomb Raider has had, anyone would be forgiven for attempting to recreate the same formula. The most important additions to this particular title are Indiana's accessories. The creation of the computer-animated whip allows for a little innovation in level design. You must learn to swing from branches, poles and other horizontal erections to reach seemingly inaccessible platforms. As with any game containing numerous bad guys, weapons are essential, and there are lots to choose from here, believe me. Some weapons are pocket-sized, others are so huge you would need a forklift in your backpack. If you're a fan of Indiana Jones or the Tomb Raider series, you will find lots to enjoyin this non-female translation. Whoopah! (Insert your own whip-crack sound here).
