TOCA Touring Car Championship, Desktop Computer
Live the exciting world of the TOCA Touring Car Championship on your very own PC. Forget about arcade playability, TOCA is a racing simulation and even though it takes time to master, it's very rewarding when you learn it. TOCA aims for realism. All of the high performance cars of the season are represented and the handling characteristic of each vehicle is accurately modelled. You can pick from Peugeots, Audis, Vauxhalls and Nissans, to name but a few and then take them to proper circuits like Silverstone and Brands Hatch. You can choose to compete in a single, customisable race or opt for the full racing season. Accumulating points over the season in your championship bid is the way to prove yourself as a racing professional. It's not going to be easy but you'll enjoy every step of the way. TOCA is best played over a local network. This is the main advantage of the PC version and you might as well take advantage of it if you can. Up to eight people can compete in a race and the buzz of winning is fantastic. Even though the computer drivers put up a good race, they are nowhere near as talented or evil as real people. TOCA is made even more fun with the cheats that you can enter. Driving a tank complete with weapons is a laugh, you cut me up, you die. Does doubling your speed or driving on lava sound appealing, no problem, just enter the appropriate cheats. In 2001 TOCA was released as a budget release, considering the amount of gameplay on offer this game is more than worth its price. If you have missed this title in the past now is the ideal time to check it out.
