The development team behind Civilization now bring forth Call to Power 2, the ultimate God game. This title takes powermongery to the limit, spanning the progress of the civilised world from its origins in North Africa, Europe and South America. The game spans over 6,000 years and follows the progress of humanity across the globe, through every technical innovation and invention. Also included in Call to Power 2 is full social development of your little minions. For instance, if you begin the game as the Romans, setting out to conquer Europe, one of your most important priorities is to master the art of slavery. 5,000 years later, this is deemed socially unacceptable by the population at large. One of the big selling points of this game is the way it allows you to rewrite history. You have the option to play as the Aztecs for example, and concentrate on developing shipbuilding technologies. Then it's off to Spain for a bit of invading, looting and enslaving. Get the picture? As you progress through the game and your empire begins to expand you will encounter other civilisations, trying to make their way in the world. Negotiation and diplomacy now come into play. Call to Power 2 boasts the most advanced diplomatic model ever created, allowing real relationships and alliances to be formed. If you grew up playing Populous, this is Populous grown up and is well worth a look.
