Gambling can be a destructive and evil habit. It can also provide many hours of enjoyment and put a few quid in your pocket. For some folks, it's a way of life: an unpredictable, rollercoaster type of a life for sure, and exciting with it. For those of us with more restraint and less time on our hands, the occasional flutter is enough, and just as exciting in its own way. This game allows you to indulge yourself either way, without ending up out of pocket for real. Caesar's Palace first released a gambling simulator back in the days of the 8-Bit Nintendo Entertainment System and a new game has appeared on almost every platform since. You enter the virtual casino with $2000 to gamble away, and a Caesar's ranking of Amateur, meaning you can only place $100 bets, plus you receive training from a virtual casino coach. Firstly, it's over to the bandits to tumble some fruits. In terms of slot-jockey innovation, US fruit machines are something of an anachronism. There are no features, nudges or trails, as found on contemporary European machines: simply 'spin and match' is the name of the game here. The video machines are much better, offering a wide range of easy to pick up card games, such as standard 'higher or lower' and 'tens or better'. When the virtual slot stool starts to chafe, it's time to head over to the card game bays. American Rules Blackjack is available to play, along side Casino War and Punto Banko. For the uninitiated, Casino War is a strange affair. The game seems to rely entirely on a player's ESP, and needs no skill or experience. The dealer draws two cards, both face down, and pushes one over to you. You then have to bet on whether you think your card will be of higher value than the other. Great! Also playable in this compilation are Roulette, Craps and all the other classic table games you would expect to find in a game with the Caesars title. So if you fancy a flutter, but your missus is holding the purse-strings, Caesar's Palace for the PC could be a wife-saver.
