Z: Steel Soldiers, Desktop Computer
As the long-awaited sequel to the highly acclaimed Z, Z: Steel Soldiers, has made an appearance once again for the PC platform. Developed by the Bitmap Brothers, this latest instalment of the series takes place over 500 years later. Once again, TransGlobal Industries and the MegaCom Corporation are still on uneasy terms, and although a ceasefire is currently in place, things look shaky. Inevitably, war breaks out, and this is where you, the player, take over. Steel Soldiers, unlike the rest of the RTS games, has been developed solely to be an action game. Any existing strategy within the game will involve uncovering the opposition's weaknesses and finding the best method of eradicating the enemy. The whole of the game takes place across six very distinct environments that include the Arctic, hot deserts and swarming jungles. Because of the harsh terrain of some of these environments, Steel Soldiers also boasts a variety of units that include amphibious land-based vehicles and airforces. But claiming a plot of land to use as a base and as a source of raw materials is a decision that should be taken with care. While some areas may have an abundance of raw materials, the strategic positioning may not be satisfactory, and vice versa. Complete with some stunning AI, thirty single-player missions and a further twenty in multi-player mode, Steel Soldiers targets a wide audience and yes, there is genuinely something for everyone to enjoy in Z: Steel Soldiers.

Well that statement can only be compounded by this latest Ubisoft release, as, well before the release of either games - and al...
