Dungeon Siege, Desktop Computer
You would be forgiven for thinking that Microsoft would abandon the PC market following the much-vaunted Xbox launch, but this simply isn't the case. In fact, the company has already released its next major role-playing title Dungeon Siege. Wizards and warriors, rise to your challenge! From a technical standpoint, Dungeon Siege is blessed with the stunning visuals that today's graphics accelerators are capable of offering and possesses an impressive graphics engine allowing for lush, outdoor environments and dark and sinister dungeons. The game presents a continuous 3D landscape so seamless that the player can journey from the highest mountain to the deepest dungeon and never see a loading screen. Dungeons and environments extend in three dimensions along with awe-inspiring vertical landscapes and intense special effects, giving an extreme feeling of reality. Players can start the epic story as a farm boy or girl and build character skills in the game as your gameplay skills develop in reality. Build up a party of characters as you journey by hiring help, rescuing the helpless, or resurrecting those seemingly beyond help. Players can also upload their characters into a multi-player game of up to eight characters over a local area network, or play with other elf-mad people on the Internet. Dungeon Siege also has an editor, so players can create their own maps, quests, spells and dungeons to play in. This adventure has no limits.

Guild WarsMMORPGs are developing fast, with new titles seeking ways to make the genre more interesting. Some of the criticism levelled at the new breed of RPG is that there isn't sufficient structure to make the games interesting.
