Mech Commander 2, Desktop Computer
With MechCommander 2, players can command a company of MechWarriors in a real-time strategy game of power, tactics and treachery set in the perpetual BattleTech Universe. Players will summon a squad of Mechs and will be challenged to use their cunning and skill as they attempt to capture their enemy's equipment and use it against them with devastating effect. Players new to the RTS (real-time strategy) genre can indulge themselves in the game's tutorial section. Here you can master the basics and even have a go at some advanced MechCommander techniques. Once ready, players can begin the game proper. Your game will appear simple at first; move your three Mechs from one position to another, destroying the small armies of enemies along the way. But soon after, you will be plunged into a Mech-heavy battlefield in which you must keep control of some harsh situations. While a lone MechWarrior can wield up to 100 tons of 'mechanised' death, the MechCommander rules the battlefield from above, imposing his strategic will and mastering all he surveys. When the MechCommander issues an order to jump, MechWarriors obey. When something needs to be destroyed, the MechCommander needs only to finger the target. The MechCommander rules the battlefield with an iron fist, commanding his units from the orbital dropship. While the original MechCommander was a great game, its sequel offers so much more. MechCommander 2 really is the icing on the cake for fans of the series.
