Monopoly Tycoon, Desktop Computer
The classic board game of Monopoly traditionally entailed its players rolling dice, moving around a pre-determined game area, handling currency and negotiating with the opposition. But this classic era of tabletop gaming is now taking a turn, thanks to Infogrames with the release of their own in-depth version of Monopoly for PC. Monopoly Tycoon takes a turn from the limited gameplay seen in previous incarnations and allows players to not only create and build on well-known Monopoly sites, but to manage a stable environment full of living, thinking and unique characters. There are many similarities to Maxis' Sim City series, yes, but Monopoly Tycoon doesn't have that game's natural disasters, waterworks woes and power plant palavers. The game is purely focused around money. Monopoly Tycoon has been rendered in full 3D and distinguishes itself among a plethora of similar titles for being one of the most interactive experiences available for a strategy management game. As well as managing highly desirable locations such as London's Park Lane, players must also take the initiative to keep the in-game population as happy as can be. Doing so will ensure regular cash injections for your swelling bank account. But how do you know what your fellow citizens require? Well, you quite simply read their minds. With the click of a mouse button, players are able to determine exactly what is required. How you go about satisfying the populace is down to you. This experience will then, in turn, help you to become a better, more accomplished tycoon. With a huge interactive playing area, vast real-time environments, and a four-player LAN multi-player option, Monopoly Tycoon players can rest assured they are playing a soon-to-be classic game.
