Gunman Chronicles, Desktop Computer
Sierra's reputation as great PC publishers was confirmed with the release of the ground breaking classic, Half-Life, Developed by ex Microserfs, Valve. While the series has come to an end, the game's super-developed engine is still very much in use. Putting Valve's achievements to great use is Gunman Chronicles, the latest first-person shooter to run under the Half-Life engine. Since your last challenge as a gunman, five years have past. Now the Xenomes are back, but there's an even greater presence controlling them. Soon after beginning the game proper, it will become apparent just how deviously challenging this game really is. The cunning opposition's AI is as fierce as ever, forcing you to adapt to their every move. Weapons are fully customisable, and each one has as many as thirty different configuration options. The game takes place across four huge worlds, totting up nearly forty hours of gameplay. If single player action is not your scene, you can get hooked up to the Internet and play against up to 32 of the world's most intelligent opponents - human beings. With multi-player similar to that in Quake, there are some great challenges to participate in. While still a unique title, Gunman Chronicles resembles many games within the genre. But the title takes the best qualities from them and adds some of its own, resulting in a fantastic playing experience.
