Shogun Total War: The Mongol Invasion, Desktop Computer
Owners of the original Shogun: Total War will be pleased that Electronic Arts have released an expansion pack for this Japanese War title. The Mongol Invasion recreates the era of Japanese history when Kublai Khan decided to conquer Japan. You can play as either side, each with their own agenda. Will you defend the noble land or take part in the pillaging? The Mongol Invasion offers an array of new and improved features for all of you up and coming generals. In this expansion, you will be responsible for the lives of several thousand loyal soldiers or clan members. Each pawn stays true to the teachings of the philosophies of the Sun Tzu and demonstrates individual, unpredictable artificial intelligence. Ultimately it is up to you to form appropriate battle formations and as a general, you will be responsible for all immediate tactics and long-term war strategies. You can decide the troop movements and even invent your own cunning traps. Waiting until it is dark before quietly surrounding your enemy and then violently attacking from three sides at once is always a good tactic. In addition to the new campaigns, other new features to the series include multi-player strategy maps where two to seven players compete over a LAN for conquest of Japan. New multiple victory conditions expand the winning requirements for battle, sometimes you will have to kill the Daimyo or capture tactical locations. The list of improvements to Total War is almost as long as Japanese history itself. With its improved multi-player performance, game balance and playability, diplomacy and alliances, interfaces and graphics, Shogun Total War: The Mongol Invasion is an absorbing and richly rewarding expansion pack.
