Keep The Balance, Desktop Computer
Puzzle games have a habit of becoming annoyingly addictive. Normally, that's a good quality for a game to possess, but when it starts affecting the rest of your life you can start to worry. As long as you know what you're getting yourself into, you can prepare yourself for the worst. In a similar vein to the all-time classic Tetris, Keep the Balance is the latest puzzle game to test your intellect. The game side of Keep the Balance is like playing with gigantic weighing scales. The idea of the game is to achieve and maintain equilibrium. The longer you achieve this state the more points you accumulate. You must balance the objects on either side of the scales when they appear from the conveyor belt. It's crazy but it just might work. Now, although Keep the Balance starts easy, like all true puzzle games it gets progressively more difficult. The objects differ in size and more appropriately weight, you will have to think and act fast to adapt to the action. The conveyor belt also gradually speeds up. Great! To add to the fun, certain objects are far from inanimate. You have crocodiles wandering about that consume other objects and make your balancing life all the more trickier. Additionally, Jokers will be introduced and they have the bad habit of throwing playing cards all over the scales. Keep the Balance is a challenging puzzle game, you have been warned.

And as we move into 2004, the latest publisher to jump on the proverbial bandwagon...

Warcraft III: Reign Of ChaosThe transformation of the Orcs' society is one of the core themes of Warcraft III. Traditionally, Orcs are brutal, depraved creatures who serve only to cause strife and chaos amongst other 'enlightened' societies. However, Warcraft III will show that the Orcs not only came from a noble, highly spiritual culture, but that they are actively returning to it. Essentially, the Orcs once cultivated a qu...

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of DarknessThe history of the lovely Lara Croft goes back to 1996 when Tomb Raider debuted on Sega Saturn. But due to Sony's PlayStation marketing blitz and insufficient installed userbase of Sega's ill-fated and expensive console, it floundered. However, the PlayStation and PC releases of Tomb Raider later that year were a huge success - the phenomenon was born. Seven years later, and in development for mor...
