Championship Manager Quiz, Desktop Computer
The people behind the Championship Manager series of games, Sports Interactive, definitely know a thing or two about football. Anyone who's ever played one of the many versions of CM will know that these guys are up to their ears in stats about the beautiful game. The good news for those who find the Championship Manager experience too isolating is the arrival of Sports Interactive's companion game, Championship Manager Quiz. There's less of a pan-world perspective this time around: the vast majority of questions (and there are 15,000 of 'em) are based around the British game. So do you know your Hatters from your Cobblers? Championship Manager Quiz works as both a single and multiplayer experience. One against the computer is a good place to get a feel for the kind of questions you'll be posed. Consider yourselves warned, however, the computer is clever, and knows as much, if not more, than you do about football. Multiplayer is where things really, erm, kick off. One against one is a lot of fun to play. Instead of telling anyone who'll listen about your favourite club, select them as your team in Championship Manager Quiz, and put your money where your mouth is. Show 'em what you know! Answer questions in order to keep possession of the ball, and move as far upfield as you can, in the hope of scoring a goal. It's a simple concept, but for footy trivia fetishists, it's manna from heaven. So, at last, a game where you don't have to any good at the sport concerned, just as long as you know your stuff. Football brainiacs rejoice, your prayers have been answered.

SRS: Street Racing SyndicateWe first heard the Street Racing Syndicate name mentioned around the turn of the millennium when it turned up on a 3DO (remember them?) press kit. Well, the 3DO imprint has disappeared, but the SRS phrase never went away. There's no trace of the 3DO mark on this game - nothing visible anyway - but with a Namco logo on the pack to reassure us, we're surely in for a smooth ride, right? These are the...
