Delta Force: BlackHawk Down, Desktop Computer
The Delta Force series of games, much loved by players of the FPS strategy game, has come a long way since its first outing in the late 1990's. It introduced itself as a war-based shoot-em-up with cunning AI, and although the fundamentals of the series haven't changed in the slightest, Black Hawk Down demonstrates brilliantly how much the series has improved over the years, both visually and technically. In late 1993, the United States launched dual military operations in Mogadishu and Somalia. Delta Force Operatives and Army Rangers were sent in to capture Somalian warlords and restore order. Experience the intense combat of Operation Restore Hope in this groundbreaking first-person shooter. As a Delta Force operative you must participate in a number of daring and intense raids against the oppressive Somalian warlords in and around Mogadishu. Are you up to it? As the game begins, you find yourself in the middle of a huge conflict armed with your rifle and charged with the task of with eliminating any enemy that attacks you. It may feel like you've been thrown in the deep end in the beginning, but you'll quickly learn how to get around, take cover and fire your weapon accurately using a mouse and keyboard. Black Hawk Down comes with the usual arsenal of weapons, dozens of levels, and a fine set of multi-player options, but it's the new AI system that makes it a better game. Enemy troops and units now react accordingly to your actions and will in many cases attempt to hunt you down. Black Hawk Down has been a long time coming, dogged by delays, but it's undeniably the best yet in the series and well worth of few hours of your time.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of AmnBeing the crme-de-la-crme of top down RPGs, Baldur's Gate made a colossal impact on the PC gaming world. Freedom FightersReleased for home consoles across the board, this latest adventure from EA is also out for PC. As usual, it benefits from the hardware-dependant graphical prowess and the 'either you like it or you don't' keyboard and mouse-orientated control mechanic. As the title more than suggests, fighting for freedom is the task at hand, mainly due to the fact that, in the fictional world in which the game is...
V-Rally 3Rallying was recently voted the most incredible thing ever, don't you know. Okay, that was according to three of our weird colleagues from the office, but the vote was carried nonetheless. And it's not just us with this unshakeable belief. People sit by the roadside, halfway up a mountain, braving frostbite, sunburn, death by impact and, worst of all, shockingly bad burgers, just to catch a six se...
