Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest, Desktop Computer
One of 2001's biggest PC releases, Vivendi's Empire Earth served as the ultimate game of conquest, spanning hundreds of years and thousands of miles of landscapes. One year on, it's time to take the next step - space, the final frontier, as it were, in The Art of Conquest expansion pack. As well as the 14 existing epochs seen in the Empire Earth original, Art of Conquest features a 15th epoch that covers the time period from 2200 to 2300AD. Life is as brutal as it ever was, and the only way to expand and survive is push back the boundaries of space and build empires on a planetary scale. The bulk of the expansion accommodates the Empire Earth's sci-fi events of the future, but due to high demand, several historic campaigns have been included, comprising of missions relating to World War II, Asia in the 14th century and ancient Rome. Multi-player support played a significant role in the success of Empire Earth, and to compound this, Art of Conquest features a newly enhanced online matchmaking system and global ranking system. In-game graphics have been upgraded too, and demonstrate some excellent lighting and landscape deformation techniques, keeping the series up to date with its competitors. The Art of Conquest combined with its original RTS offering makes it one of the most comprehensive games of its kind.
