Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Spearhead, Desktop Computer
At last! An expansion pack for the fantastic Medal of Honor. It's been a long wait but the chance has finally arrived to get back into the first person WWII action and help Europe triumph over the Nazis. The worlds' trigger fingers will surely be twitching over their mouse buttons right now. This time, players step into the shoes of one Sergeant Jack Barnes, as they continue the fight for freedom. Nine new single player levels see the player fighting from behind enemy lines in Normandy on D-Day, experiencing the Battle of the Bulge, and witnessing the Fall of Berlin and the defeat of the thousand year Reich. A supply truck needs escorting to safety and some top-secret documents need to be located before the Russians lay siege on Berlin - What are you waiting for, soldier? More than 15 new WWII weapons feature in Spearhead, giving players an even bigger arsenal with which to lay waste to the filthy Nazis. The Russian PPSH-41 is in there, as is the British Sten Mark 2, and some American smoke grenades. The original Allied Assault was well respected in terms of its multiplayer aspect - there's still nothing better than a one-on-one Sniper fight in a devastated French town. Spearhead certainly doesn't let the side down, offering over 12 new multiplayer levels as well as an enhanced multiplayer mode, which gives players the opportunity to play as either British, American, German, or Soviet troops. Additionally, players have the ability to choose from a vast arsenal of authentic Soviet and British weapons. As the old saying goes: 'If it 'aint broke, don't fix it'. Allied Assault certainly wasn't broken, so an expansion pack like this can't possibly go wrong. If there's one niggle, then it might be the fact that a mere nine levels seems a little sparse but, apart from that, this is Medal of Honor. Extra Medal of Honor, in fact. Which is great.

Not because of its visuals or myriad features, but because of the effort that went into the game engine. Tropico was as realistic as games come, and its sequel, Tropico 2, highly anticipated by RTS veterans, is set to improve on what is already a respected game. As an all-powerful Pirate ...
