Civilization III: Conquests, Desktop Computer
Management games, god games and RTS games are one and the same to many casual gamers, but to the learned PC player, they are all remarkably different, but there a few games for the platform that incorporate elements from all three genres. One such venture is the Civilization series. It made its first appearance way back in the mid-90s and went on to become one of the greatest strategy games of all time. In this instance, we take a look at the Civilization III expansion kit, Conquests. The first release of the second true sequel in the series, Civilization III played host to a multitude of graphical and technical improvements that put its predecessors to shame. Players were charged with leading a given race through time, managing both fundamental and detailed aspects of the population's every day lives. Players had to harvest minerals, develop technologies and even learn to trade with other populi. The Conquests Expansion lets players do all that, but includes a plethora of additional features and gameplay tweaks. Players will now be able to assume control of eight new civilisations, and each comes with its own unique leader, units and special abilities. You'll be given a new set of victory conditions, terrain elements, resources and city improvements. Such a vast number of variables means the game is unlikely to be played the same way twice, and with improved multi-player support and a 'play-by-email' option, Conquests has no real limits. Conquests is unlikely to be the last we'll see of the Civilization series, and with PC technology advancing at such a phenomenal rate, players can expect Civilization 4 any day starting...now!

Army Men: Air AttackSimilar to the popular “Strike” series, this chopper combat title is yet another Army Men title set to invade your home.
