Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, Desktop Computer
It almost seems amazing that there has not been an online version of Wizard of the Coast's world renowned Dungeons & Dragons games until now. D&D, as its affectionately known the world over, is one of the most popular role-playing game franchises ever developed, so its many eager fans and followers will no doubt be spending far too much time playing the new MMORPG version - Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach. The background story to the game is this: Adventurers have long travelled to the shrouded continent of Xen'drik to explore the ancient ruins and discover the treasures hidden beneath. Stormreach is a bustling frontier city, a cauldron of ambition and secret plots that has grown on the edges of this dark and dangerous continent. You get the chance to (virtually) live in this thriving metropolitan city where you can get to know the thousands of other players in the game, as well as all the NPCs. Stormreach has up until now been relatively safe and secure as the gateway to Xen'drik. But no longer. Now very few of those brave or foolish explorers who set out adventuring the lands near Stormreach ever return, and those that do bring back only tales of death and destruction. So, if you think yourself a match for the fearsome denizens of the dungeons below - then here is the MMORPG for you. You are charged with discovering the secret mysteries that threaten Stormreach's very existence. Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach features the new campaign setting of Eberron, where you can adventure as your favourite D&D character race (Human, Elf, Halfling, Dwarf or Warforged) and class (barbarian, bard, cleric, fighter, paladin, ranger, rogue, sorcerer and wizard). The game also features fast paced combat, requiring tactical critical thinking as much as bravery and physical skill. Plus it is very reminiscent of the traditional pencil-and-paper D&D, in that it gives you the opportunity to ally with friends and other players for small party adventures in its unique landscapes and dungeons.
