Chris Sawyer's Rollercoaster Tycoon series has been a remarkable success, hugely popular with both RTS veterans and coaster enthusiasts alike. The series has also seen several expansion packs and additional downloadable extras, but never has the game made it onto console - until now. Yes, the ultimate thrill-em-up from Infogrames has returned for Xbox complete with the original game and the Loopy Landscapes expansion pack. As a strategy management simulation, RCT doesn't operate purely on the design of thrilling coasters; you have to look after your theme park. Each of the visitors have their own thoughts on how popular your park is and what additions need to be made to keep people spending. If you can convince the computer-controlled visitors, the money will start rolling in, allowing you to build more adventurous coasters and attractions. The construction of rollercoasters plays a major part in RCT, whereby you will be given statistics on the safety, thrill, nausea and intensity factors of your newly designed steel monster. Once a safe and potentially profitable coaster is built, it is advisable to make sure the ride actually works and that you're not going to kill the population of the park in the process. In addition, the Loopy Landscapes expansion allows veterans of the game to get their teeth stuck into yet another 30 scenarios, all of which are just as challenging as the originals are. Six new themes have been included, allowing for some increasingly original designs that will help your park look more attractive than ever. A surprising new addition is the inclusion of some 'real' parks. Genuine replicas of Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, two of Europe's most popular parks, have been made available for you to play around with. Provided you don't own the PC equivalent, Rollercoaster Tycoon for the Xbox is extremely worthwhile and offers endless hours of fun.
