The King of Fighters 2002, Electronic Games
Long overdue on the Xbox is a conversion of King of Fighters 2002, released in 2004 in Japan. Up until summer 2005, the only version available in Europe has been the compilation pack which includes the 2000 and 2001 versions of KoF. Now the wait is over, as Iori, Mai, Joe and enemies blast their way onto the console in a living room near you. 2002 is the eighth game in the legendary series and includes 39 characters, who have appeared in versions 96 to 2001 over the years, as well as five all-new characters. KoF 2002 reverts to the popular team based 3-on-3 structure, and you can select fighters from the Fatal Fury team (featuring Terry and Andy) or the Woman Fighters team, featuring the ever-popular Mai. This version also features an upgraded Max-On power system, and Super Special moves are more devastating and over the top than ever before. More than a simple arcade conversion, it also features improved graphics. The Xbox version, as well as being fully compatible with Live! for online play, also allows you to customise your character's colour scheme so that you stand out in the crowd. The KoF brand is as popular as ever, and this edition joins SVC Chaos and Maximum Impact in the list of Xbox releases.
