Ever had the urge to kick the stuffing out of a well-known celebrity? Sure you have. Get this urge regularly? Of course you do. In fact, do you think that pretty much 99 percent of the world's TV personalities should be herded up, dumped on a remote island and forced to mutilate each other with blunt instruments? We all do. Well, this latest game, based on the hit MTV show, gives you the opportunity to vent your showbiz rage by giving you the chance to partake in your very own Celebrity Deathmatch. Stress relief? You betcha! The game itself does exactly what the TV show does, by placing famous celebrity caricatures in a ring and having them fight it out, uber-violent style. There are 15 famous faces to choose from in total, including the likes of Marilyn Manson, Busta Rhymes, Jerry Springer, Mr T, and Shannen Doherty - the latter whom we're sure will prove particularly popular in this instance. Each of the celebrities is in possession of their own unique moves, suited to their personas, as well as an assortment of special death moves that allow you to finish off your opponents in some kind of sick manner, Mortal Kombat style. As a result of the game's over-exaggerated cartoon violence, throughout each bout the characters sustain an increasing amount of damage and thus appear bruised, bloody, dented, deformed, or hacked apart. If 15 celebrities is not enough for you then you might want to take advantage of the game's Create-a-Celebrity mode, which allows you to do just that and construct your very own victim of fame upon which you can then inflict untold suffering. There's a wealth of arenas, modes, challenges, and unlockable features that add a bit of weight to the proceedings but, at the end of the day, this is no serious beat-em-up. It is, however, a lorra lorra fun, faithful to its origins, and it should go down well with fans of the TV show.
