The Sims 2, Electronic Games
When games designers first pitched the idea of The Sims to Electronic Arts, the publishing mega-monster famously doubted that the idea was viable. The go ahead was eventually given though, and the svengalis in Redwood Towers have been bathing in the resulting lucre ever since, as the game and its many spin-offs became the biggest selling videogame of all time. With the market for the title well proven, EA had no doubt about whether making the sequel was a good idea. The natural progression was to take the game online, which they did with much success, though the stick-in-the-muds with low powered PCs that enjoyed the first games complained they couldn't run the more demanding sequel. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, and just like its predecessor, the game is now expanding to the console market, with the Sims 2 rolling out across every current console. The GBA version of Sims 2 takes a rather different direction from its sister titles. Like the others, you start by creating and customising the world in which your Sims are to live. But the game then becomes a sort of interactive TV show in which you are the star. You are given the lead role in a hit TV series, Strangetown. Accomplish goals to receive vitals high TV ratings as you act out 20 separate episodes. We all know that fame can go to people's heads and the Sims 2 on GBA is the latest game to feature a sanity meter. Make sure you address your hopes and fears or you'll go bonkers! You'll also have to battle for social standing - both in game against CPU rivals and with your friends via link-up. We all know what happens between TV shows. That's right: commercials. Between each episode there are mini games based around adverts to enjoy. A surprisingly innovative effort for a Sims game, The Sims 2 for GBA is the cheapest handheld option and possibly the best.

007: Everything or NothingEver since EA first acquired the Bond licence, the resulting roster of both movie tie-ins and original titles has constantly suffered comparisons to the standard-setting N64 game GoldenEye, and in most cases fallen short of the mark.
