Austin Powers: Welcome To My Underground Lair, Nintendo Gameboy
Video game tie-ins of big screen movies are now as common as any other video game genre. While some of these games have proven to be valuable to the industry's portfolio, others are better left alone. The thought of Austin Powers on Game Boy is a terrifying prospect that doesn't bear thinking about. Nevertheless, it's happened, and while it seems a pointless production, that's not to say its a bad game or no fun to play. Upon switching on your handheld, you will come across what appears to be a PC start up screen and a memory check. Soon after, you will realise that the nature of this game is to act as a PC desktop. Welcome To My Underground Lair is not so much a single game as it is a PC utility disc. Before getting into one of the game's three sub-games, you might as well have a look at some of the other evil stuff. You can customise your fake desktop with a number of backgrounds and even use the game's 'evilator'. The three mini games consist of a Rock, Paper, Scissors contest, a fake Pac-Man game and a weird board game. Surprisingly, each one is actually a lot of fun to play, and strangely addictive. These games also give you the opportunity to battle against your favourite Austin Powers characters, including Felicity Shagwell and Fat Bastard. There's nothing special here, but I have no doubt that anyone strange enough to enjoy Austin Powers is going to relish this. There are also three others to collect in the series. Come to me, Mini-Me!

Naturally, Nas Boxing on GBC is doesn't possess the visual loveliness of its PlayStation counterpart but it does...
Cyber TigerCybertiger from EA is a cartoon-style golf game in the ilk of the fantastic Everybody's Golf. The first thing you notice about this game is that it comes from a great heritage, carrying official licenses from both PGA and Tiger Woods himself. The disk contains both real and fantasy courses and a host of made-up golfers to take on Tiger. These can be mixed and matched with players that you can crea...
Road RashWhile violence is not condoned by the games industry, there is a large percentage of games that revolve around this subject. However, people are only human (well, DUH!), and incorporating violent elements in games means that, at the very least, they can be a novel enough distraction. Road Rash from the 16-bit era is a prime example of this fact. As a popular game it is unsurprising that the Electr...
Matchbox Emergency PatrolLet's be honest, most racing games are about racing, chasing or being chased. So it makes a refreshing change when the genre explores its adventure side. It's nice when you can have a break from driving to talk to a few of your bosses and find out what your next challenge should be. THQ's Emergency Patrol from Matchbox incorporates such gameplay elements for GameBoy Color. Adopting a theme akin to...
Disney's The Emperor's New GrooveThe Emperor's new groove finally hits home on the Game Boy. If you are a fan of the Disney Film or platform games in general, this title is worth looking at. In case you don't know the story, the young Emperor Kuzco is a bit cocky, and his loyal servant devises a plan to get rid of him once and for all. He is comically turned into llama and banished from the palace. Kuzco wakes up in a village, fa...
Top Gear Rally 2Rally titles have become extremely popular since the introduction of 3D capable platforms, but Kemco have shown that it's equally possible to create a fun rally title for a 2D machine, particularly, the GameBoy Color. Nintendo's ten-year-old format originally showcased some of the simplest graphics ever created, but as time progressed, more and more complicated tasks were drawn out of the old mach...
