Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis, Sony Playstation
Do not be fooled by the endorsement of the lovely Ms Kournikova. Though she undoubtedly takes her game very seriously, AK Smash Court Tennis is anything but a hardcore sports simulation. A big seller in the PSX's budget range, this title is a somewhat traditional, nay old-fashioned, arcade-type game. This can mean only one thing: fun is definitely on the agenda, and AK Smash Court Tennis delivers in spades. Anna is the only genuine tennis player to make an appearance in this game, however there are plenty of familiar faces to match to Christian names, along with varying playing styles. Whoever you choose to play as, do not for a moment think that you're going to win every point, because whoever you find yourself playing against, be it in a singles or doubles match, your opponent's AI will be top-notch more often than not. At least in the doubles option, you can blame your failings on your partner. Just like in real-life, although the professionals do a much better job of hiding their frustration. There are a variety of environments to play in, and a selection of court surfaces, clay, grass, concrete, and what some would say resembles crazy paving. Game modes include Tournament, in which extra players can be unlocked if your performance makes the grade, Exhibition, which is the ideal multi-player experience, and the quick-fix laugh-riot that is Smash Blast. In this mode, the ball is a time-bomb. Just play your shot as fast as possible, and hope it doesn't come back! AK Smash Court Tennis looks totally retro, but once you start to play, it's like greeting a familiar face from way back. So get friendly with Anna Kournikova and you'll be friends for a long time to come.

Ape Escape 2It seems the monkeys are back, wreaking havoc all over the place. Not the most inspired concept for this sequel but that is of no importance as all the quirky humour and fantastically original gaming concepts that typified the original are also back, as is the game's unique and intuitive control system. And besides, with a title like Ape Escape 2, what else would you expect? This time, the Peak Po...
Donald Duck Quack AttackUbi Soft has had a plentiful development history of well over 150 titles since its establishment in 1986. After working on 2D platforms for around eight years, the transition to 3D was met with Rayman on PlayStation. The success of the Rayman became an obvious one, and inspired Ubi Soft to create other titles within the genre of platforming. Enter, Donald Duck. After acquiring the rights from Disn...
NBA Live 06It's about this time of year that EA like to release all the sporting titles they've been crafting during the off season. Both types of football - Madden and FIFA - have already hit the streets, as has their NHL game which looks as reinvigorated as the hockey league itself does after missing last season. If you've been waiting patiently for the new NBA Live game, well...here it is, and as usual it...
The Matrix: Path of NeoThe Matrix. For many of the more nerdily inclined among us it was the biggest thing since Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Retailers of tight black t-shirts around the world rejoiced, and makers of long leather trenchcoats and many-buckled boots were no less jubilant. They weren't the only happy ones though, as videogame publishers everywhere took no time to notice that the hit film's imaginative univers...
