Aironauts, Sony Playstation
The industry of video games began its journey as a 'cool' product when PlayStation made its debut in 1995. With the release of WipEout amongst other titles, a futuristic genre could finally be realised in an adequate 3D format. Continuing the genre was rest of the WipEout series, G-Police, and many, many other future-type clones. Among the genre of space, is Aironauts; a replica of what the future of sport may look like. The title, Aironauts, suggests that this be flight game of some kind, and not surprisingly, this is the case. In the not too distant future, the industry of sport has taken a turn towards avionics. As the rider of one of these jetpacks, you must manoeuvre, and sometimes race around as many as fifty levels, all of which become increasingly harder. You can choose from one of eight characters, each with their own unique specifications on handling and weaponry. You must use your new found abilities to the fullest, and perform barrel rolls and loop-the-loops to fulfil the requirements of the scenario. So, the genre of futuristic flight remains a promising one if Aironauts is anything to go by.

Viewtiful Joe 2Late 2002 saw Capcom announce that it was going to release Resident Evil 4 and four other all-new (and apparently exclusive) games on the Nintendo Gamecube. The announcement did a lot for the credibility of a console that was still being eyed merely speculatively in many quarters. Resident Evil 4 came out in Europe recently, but one of the games in the four is now in its second iteration. 'Super-h...
