Disney's Dinosaur, Sony Playstation
Disney's Dinosaur is a familiar tale in the style of 'stranger in a strange land' stories, released on PS2 in the UK in time to remind the cinema-going stragglers that the film of the game will soon be available for home viewing. Astute marketing or what? If you are already familiar with the feature film from which this game is a spin-off, then the chances are that you won't find the game too taxing, as it's not much more than an adventure-platformer. The three main characters can be controlled individually and collectively at the press of a button: it's not solely about the young dinosaur, as there are a couple of his friends along for the adventure. Flia the pteranodon and Zini the monkey are never far away, until the journey becomes more perilous and the friends get split up. In order to get the most from the game-play, you have to try to get the threesome to work together and use their individual skills for a common goal. Anyone who works in a team knows there are some characters with both strengths and weaknesses and how they should be able to compensate for each others' failings. That's the key to success with this game, understanding which character is best for a particular task. The good news is that the characters' skills and abilities develop as the game progresses, depending on the quests that are accomplished and the enemies that are defeated. Aimed at the younger end of the gaming market, Disney's Dinosaur is a splendidly animated adventure with plenty of challenging moments, and an ideal companion piece to the movie.

Need for Speed: Most WantedNeed For Speed first appeared on the radar as a supercar burnout showcase for the doomed 3DO console. Over the years, the owner of the franchise, the omnipresent Electronic Arts, has tried a number of different angles, but though NFS1 and 2 were popular, subsequent releases failed to set the world alight. The mega-publisher finally found the formula it had been looking for with the release of Need...
European Super LeagueIt hasn't happened yet, and it probably can't happen soon enough for football clubs like Celtic and Rangers (it must be so frustrating to be a Scot and a fan of a team outside of the Old Firm...) but Virgin Interactive have taken the plunge and gone for fully licensed team and stadium endorsements glory. Scots will not be happy with VIE's choice of teams for this title however, as neither of the G...
Spyro: Year of the DragonAfter the release of the first 3D-capable platforms Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation, a whole new world of development opportunities was been created. The transition from 2D to 3D had the capability to change every genre in the industry for the better. As one of the most popular game types on 2D consoles, the platform game was one of the first to receive a breath of life (ha!) and originality. Spy...
RollingGood to see that this game finally made it to retail - it was a pleasant surprise to all of us here at HQ. Another surprise jumped out at us while flicking through the manual. Forgive our ignorance, but we were not aware of Jenna Downing: Jenna, if we ever spot you in a bar or cafe in our neck of the woods, we'll buy you a glass of pop for sure. We know where you live - 'cos we live there too! The...
Gran Turismo 3 A-SpecGran Turismo 3 proves the PlayStation 2 can deliver amazing looking games, heavily laden with gameplay. GT3 is easily one of the best driving games ever. If you don't have a PS2 yet, it's time to make an appointment with the bank manager. Gran Turismo 3 is very similar to its predecessor, and that's a good thing or a bad thing, dependent on how you feel about the other games in the series; luckily...
Tony Hawk's Underground 2 RemixFamed for its Tony Hawk endorsed Pro Skater games, developer Neversoft has earned itself a solid reputation in the virtual world of extreme sports. Pro Skater 2 and 3 both demonstrated improvement over the original, with very few underlying glitches, stunning level design and a fluid play mechanic. However, the release of Underground was the first in the series to offer something notably different...
