007 Racing, Sony Playstation
It's just like he's never been away, but Bond is back again, and this time, as well as bringing all the gadgets, the contents of his legendary garage are on show in 007 Racing. You take on the role of the dashing secret agent and put yourself behind the wheel of some of the most memorable motors from cinema history, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang aside. The sexy silver Aston Martin and the amphibious Lotus Esprit are just two of the cars you will be able to drive in 007 Racing. Each of the vehicles comes equipped with a complete arsenal of weapons and gadgetry courtesy of the ever-ingenious Q-Branch. There is nothing as complex as a continuing storyline in 007 Racing. In Missions Mode, you go up against many different Bond villains, but they are not linked to each other or the consecutive missions. As the challenges progress, however, they do get more and more difficult. What is a relief is the fact that 007 Racing doesn't depend on the number of lives you have as Bond. If you fail in a mission, you simply replay it until you make it through. Your rating as an agent may suffer as a result, but the only way to get to the next stage is to perform well. Set in a variety of locations, the missions are inspired by the best bits from the Bond films, and will test your mettle in the art of pursuit, stealth, evasion and surveillance. In addition to Missions Mode, there are two multi-player modes in which two players can compete. Simply choose a game, Challenge or Pass the Bomb, pick your car and a location to race in, and engage in a battle to find out who is the best Bond behind the wheel.

Viewtiful Joe 2Late 2002 saw Capcom announce that it was going to release Resident Evil 4 and four other all-new (and apparently exclusive) games on the Nintendo Gamecube. The announcement did a lot for the credibility of a console that was still being eyed merely speculatively in many quarters. Resident Evil 4 came out in Europe recently, but one of the games in the four is now in its second iteration. 'Super-h...
Grand Theft Auto: Vice CityIf ever a game of recent times was notable for generating quite considerable hype and anticipation, then Grand Theft Auto 3 was it. The move into 3D for the already popular 'crime simulator' was bound to cause a stir amongst its fanbase. More importantly, so was the fact that this was its first port onto Sony's PS2. Surprisingly for a game released amidst such a buzz, it didn't disappoint. It had ...

Crash Bandicoot 3: WarpedThat's warped as in time-warp, in case you were wondering about the possibility of this game bending your mind too much. Yes, Crash is back, with the lovely Coco in tow, invited once more to do battle with the evil Neo Cortex, this time sounding uncannily like actor Kelsey Grammer, of 'Frasier' and 'Sideshow Bob' fame. Cortex is up to his old tricks again, trying to take possession of the gems and...
Quake III RevolutionTo paraphrase legendary Russian pop duo Lenin and McCarthy (are you sure about this?) “You say you want a revolution, well, you know, we all want to change the world.” Well, I think it's fair to say that anyone whose life has been touched by any of the various Quake games, the PC versions in particular, maybe has had their gaming perspective altered in some way. Quake's various guises ...
Front Mission 3Squaresoft have earned themselves a valuable reputation as elite developers of the role playing genre, particularly in Japanese territories. Since the arrival of Final Fantasy VII on western shores in 1997, Europe has taken notice of these qualities. New for 2000 is the arrival of Front Mission 3. Front Mission 3's turned-based combat style bears some resemblance to Konami's Vandal Hearts series. ...
