Army Men: Omega Soldier, Sony Playstation
3DO, publishers and developers of the infamous Army Men games are showing no sign of slowing down, with another plethora of releases on PlayStation. Among the most recent of these games is Army Men: Omega Soldier, otherwise known as Green Rogue. In this particular episode of the war between the Green and Tanned armies, the conflict is getting out of control. The Green Army Advanced Research Division (GAARD) has created the ultimate soldier in an attempt to wipe out the threat of the Tanned Army permanently. Code-named Omega Soldier, this new warrior is said to have the abilities of all the allied warriors rolled into one. Designed to take on an entire army in this solo mission, Omega Soldier (you) must use all his resources, strength and weaponry to succeed. Although not as graphically enhanced as its PlayStation 2 counterpart, Omega Soldier boasts quite a few features on the ageing platform, including 12 high-tech weapons and head-to-head battles with four challenging bosses. Weapons are upgradeable to the extent that you'll be able to destroy enemy barricades with relative ease, but the game's BioStrikes are among the most powerful weapons of destruction ever seen. There are some lovely 3D environments that spread across 16 diverse levels. To enhance the control method in these environments, a dual analogue feature has been incorporated, meaning that your character can now move and shoot in 360 degrees. The challenge of Omega Soldier is a great one, to say the least. Playability has been increased over previous games from 3DO, partly thanks to the dual analogue controls, and as a complete game, it performs and presents itself well.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice CityIf ever a game of recent times was notable for generating quite considerable hype and anticipation, then Grand Theft Auto 3 was it. Surprisingly for a game released amidst such a buzz, it didn't disappoint. It had ...
