Batman: Vengeance, Sony Playstation
Based on the Emmy Award winning Warner Bros. animated series The New Batman Adventures featuring the DC Comics legendary hero, Ubi Soft Entertainment is developing the first 3D Batman title for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Developed internally in Ubi Soft's New York and Montreal studios, the game has a story scripted specifically for the game. From the opening cinematics, players find themselves engulfed in Batman's world; the beginning of an episodic adventure of darkness, danger and deception. In the midst of one of The Joker's twisted schemes, during a struggle with Batman, The Joker falls from a bridge to his death. Crime sweeps Gotham City, as the likes of Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, and other notorious villains step up to fill The Joker's evil shoes. As players investigate the 22 maps (19 playable) they soon come to realize that nothing is as it seems, and the fate of Gotham City, lay in the balance. Following a linear gameplay, players are immediately and deeply entrenched in an intricate, action-filled mystery. To uncover the plot against Batman, players must exploit every skill, device and technology in the Batman arsenal. Gamers utilize masterful martial arts moves to keep The Joker's henchmen at bay, grappling hooks to explore the hidden nooks of Mr. Freeze's chemical plant. Additionally, players can race the streets and airways of Gotham in the Batmobile and Batplane, or free fall from buildings with the aid of an armor-enhanced cape. Collecting clues to unravel the plot at hand, players piece together intricate mysteries, always on the alert for thugs, traps and treachery.
