Dark Summit, Sony Playstation
Following the popular releases from the CoolBoarders series, the snowboarding genre is moving onto next generation platforms in the form of Dark Summit. Already released on Xbox, Dark Summit is now available on PlayStation 2. It may be slightly less impressive in the visuals department, but it packs in all the gameplay of the Xbox version, and then some. There is something different about this mountain-based adventure that sets it apart from the rest. Dark Summit focuses greatly upon plot development. In a completely original idea, Dark Summit has been designed as a mission-based snowboarding game. Dark Summit's gameplay focuses on Mountt Garrick, a peaceful ski resort reserved for only the most upstanding citizens of the region. Snowboarders are strictly forbidden. As a snowboarder, and with the mountain officially off limits, you must evade Chief O'Leary's attempts to remove you from 'his' mountain and banish him from Mount Garrick for good. Each 'mission' comes with several objectives that must be fulfilled to proceed to later stages of the game. All levels require your snowboarding expertise and you must perform seemingly impossible stunts to survive O'Leary's onslaught. Further areas of the mountain will be unlocked depending the player's performance, and by earning status points, you can improve your rank on the mountain and earn greater respect from your rebellious companions. The PlayStation 2 version of Dark Summit has one single most important advantage over the Xbox version - the controller. Where the Xbox controls were often tricky due to the close proximity of the button layout, Sony's good old dual shock controller still offers the most comfortable playing experience, and with games like Dark Summit, that's a crucial quality.

Everquest Online AdventuresFor some years, the Everquest world was strictly an RPG for the PC platform, though its content was something more akin to a console offering. Much of the game and its expansions were action-based and easily accessible, so it only seems fair that the game is brought to PlayStation 2, courtesy of Sony. The game's plot however, is as hardcore as any other RPG - PC-based or otherwise - and is reminis...

Bust-A-Move 4Many games players say that retro games should stay where they belong; in the past. The Bust-A-Move series is among the many ancient classics to be revived. The fact that Bust-A-Move 4 has been released is clear cut evidence that gameplay is the most signi...
And1 StreetballLast seen on a virtual basketball court in 2002 with the Activision-published Street Hoops, Black Ops is back on the tarmac with And1 Streetball, brought to us this time around by Ubisoft. Some of the finer points of basketball weren't relevant to Street Hoops and - surprise, surprise! - And1 Streetball is a game in very much the same vein: impenetrable lingo, intrusive music, and physically impro...
The Simpsons SkateboardingIt's a fact that absolutely everyone in the world is in love with The Simpsons, except George Bush Snr who prefers The Waltons. But, as no Waltons Skateboarding game is being released for PlayStation 2, it looks like he backed the wrong horse. It is widely accepted that EA's last Simpsons game, Simpsons Road Rage, was practically a clone of Sega's seminal Crazy Taxi, albeit featuring the colourful...
