Disney's Tarzan Freeride, Sony Playstation
A considerable amount of time after the hit release of Disney's Tarzan in the cinemas, Ubi Soft has finally released Tarzan Freeride, a combination of classic platforming and primitive extreme sports. Developed for PlayStation 2, this is by far the most advanced and desirable of the Tarzan games to date. The story in Freeride is very similar to its big screen counterpart and involves Tarzan and a variety linguistically-accomplished primates. Hmm. Like the vast majority of PS2 games, Freeride looks stunning. The environments, although mostly different shades of green, are stunningly rendered in full 3D, and populated by a bestiary of friendly and hostile inhabitants. Watch out for those crocodiles! When getting into the game proper, players are advised to listen out for the game's plot; it helps to drive the progression of the game better than most. You will initially begin in a forest area that is played in linear format, Crash Bandicoot-style. Running into the screen, you will learn how to jump, climb, swing and slide across the huge environment. As you progress, the same moves are required of you, but in faster, more frequent movements. The first level is a kind of tutorial that helps to player get to grips with what is to come. Before long, you will be riding the rapids on floating logs and saving lives. It's light-hearted fun that gets the pulse racing. All of the above, tied in with a series of Time Attack and skill-based challenges makes for a great game that provides many hours of gameplay.

Then there's your simulation - realistic physics, accurately modelled vehicles, authentic real-world tracks - the serious gamer's game. Wouldn't it be great if one game combined both styles, leaving you fre...
Timesplitters: Future PerfectThe lineage of the Timesplitters games goes back to the heady days of the N64, when a certain development studio by the name of Rare created a certain First Person Shooter called Goldeneye for the spanking new Nintendo console. Teaming the license from one of the better Bond films of recent years with the most proficiently executed FPS ever seen by console owners was a stroke of genius as accident...

Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death2000 AD's Judge characters, despite their huge popularity in the long-running comic, have never really made their presence felt across the games industry. In fact, until now there have been only a couple of video games based upon the formidable Judge Dredd. However, Dredd vs Death for PlayStation 2 marks another outing for the merciless law enforcer, developed in-house at Rebellion. It is the 22nd...
Frogger 2: Swampy's RevengeThe video games industry began all the way back in the very early seventies, and there aren't many games that people will remember for a considerable period of time. The likes of Pong, Tetris, and Breakout will probably be remembered throughout the history of video games. In addition to these classics is the 1981 hit, Frogger. In a now saturated industry, it appears that these classics are coming ...
Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and No Fear Downhill Mountain BikingAdded to the ever-increasing list of genres in late 1999, the mountain biking sim could have, should have been awful. How could MTB possibly be replicated? Thing is, nobody considered those clever types at Codemasters. If any company could make a go of it, Codies could. And they did. And here it is, together with one of the best rally sequels ever. In No Fear, here are single race or tournament op...
