Capcom Vs SNK Pro, Sony Playstation
With the number of Playstation Street Fighter games now well into double figures, this latest offering could well be the last, considering the moribund status of Sony's veteran console. Capcom vs. SNK Pro, in the same vein as is the trend with these fighting games, pits two teams from popular beat-'em-ups against each other in the typical 2D Street Fighter scenario, in this case Capcom's Street Fighter and SNK's myriad fighting games. As the story goes, it's the year 2000 and fighting fans are eager for something new to take hold of the mixed unarmed combat tournaments. A special event has been planned in response called Millennium Fight 2000. As prominent fighters sign up, excitement is building but the omens of destruction are soon to throw the tournament into chaos. Game modes follow in the footsteps of the average Street Fighter game, with Arcade mode offering the main single player experience and Vs mode allowing for one-on-one battles with friends. A training mode is available for practising moves against a sparring partner and other options, such as Pair Match mode, are thrown in, adding a bit of longevity to the proceedings. All in all, this is your standard Street Fighter game. If you're a fan of the series then this is another episode to add to your collection. If you're new to the Street Fighter world, then this game is the latest release from the undisputed king of fighting games.
