Digimon World 2003, Sony Playstation
The story of Digimon World 2003 is a simple one, of kids' playtime soured by intrusion of technological ineptitude. Time to let loose the digital monsters and save the day, in a parallel universe kind of way. 12 year old Junior and his friends Teddy and Ivy are at home, playing Digimon Online. In this game within the game (spooky!) Junior, Teddy and Ivy enter the Digital World and travel on an exciting adventure with their Digimon. But one fateful day, when the friends are in the middle of a game, an accident occurs and they become trapped inside the Digital World. As an interested observer (which of course you are) it is now up to you to save the Digimon and rescue your friends. This involves a lot of traversing between the real world and the Digimon World, and it's all done in that peculiar Bandai way, you know, where everything makes sense to the children while adults are generally left dumbfounded by what's going on. What's new with the 2003 version is 24 original Digimon have been created especially for the game. Put these alongside the 200+ Digimon already present, and it's virtual pet simulation a-go-go. Definitely one for the young 'uns.
