All Star Tennis, Sony Playstation
More budget sporting action to be had with this latest PlayStation 'All Star' release from Midas. This time the subject matter in question is the old English favourite Tennis, appearing in the form of a simple, cartoon-style bat 'n ball romp. Although cheap and cheerful in appearance, All Star Tennis is still packed full of all the usual game options and modes that you'd normally associate with higher priced titles. You can play through both singles and doubles matches, with varying game lengths and difficulty levels, and all the common surface types are in there, lending a little variety to the proceedings. The main mode for the solitary player is, rather expectedly, Tournament mode. In this you select from a list of 16 different characters, each with their own individual playing style, and work your way through a number of increasingly difficult matches in order to achieve your crowning glory. Failing that there's also the option of a free mode, which allows you to opt for the quick and easy single match. A nice touch in All Star Tennis is its multiplayer support. With the aid of a trusty multitap, up to four players can take part in the action - an element of gaming that never ceases to entertain. At the end of the day, All Star Tennis is pretty much a bog standard, no frills tennis game, but its wealth of options combined with its understated price tag mean that it's certainly worth adding to your dusty PSX collection.

Chaos BreakSurvival Horror developers Capcom set the benchmark for the genre right at the beginning of the 3D era on PlayStation with Resident Evil. With a further two sequels and the production of Dino Crisis, Capcom continued to lead the way. But software house EON is on the trail with their recent entry into the genre and the release of Chaos Break. Since the title explains very little, let us explain. In...
