Crash Nitro Kart, Sony Playstation
Something of a Mario Kart clone, 1999's Crash Team Racing was one of PlayStation's final major releases, appearing just a year before PS2 was released. It does look a little dated by today's standards, so Vicarious Visions came up with the bright idea to develop a karting sequel for PlayStation 2, ingeniously named Crash Nitro Kart. Dragging the karting spin-off into the next generation, Crash Nitro Kart doesn't bring anything particularly new to the series, but the visuals have been updated, boasting cleaner textures, and some great animations and special effects. But people don't usually buy racing games to gawk at visual goodness. They want a fast-paced competition that's always good to come back to, and that's exactly what Crash Nitro Kart is all about. Featuring just about every major character from the Crash universe, including the notorious Neo Cortex, Nitro Kart pits players in 17 high-speed fantasy raceways that take place on volcanoes, futuristic cities and space stations, to name but a few. The single player game can be played in the style of an adventure, whilst arcade and time trial modes offer a classic racing experience and an incentive to better your lap times. But any racing game's strongest point is it's ability to offer frenetic multi-player action, and Nitro Kart doesn't disappoint. Where Crash Team Racing's multi-player option came across as a developer afterthought, Nitro Kart is much more extensive, incorporating exclusive battle arenas and even an arena editor for greater longevity. A typical karting extravaganza, Crash Nitro Kart is everything it was promised to be.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2001EA's reputation as a video games developer and publisher is a strong one. Now split into two divisions, EA Sports and EA Games, the company seems unstoppable. While known for many games developments across many genres, the company is undoubtedly best known for sports titles, but more specifically, sports sequels and updates. Continuing the trend, EA has now released the popular golf simulator Tige...
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's StoneReleased alongside its respective film in late 2001, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone didn't quite make it to the PlayStation 2, appearing instead on Sony's first machine, as well as PC, Mac and Game Boy. Add to that the fact that neither GameCube nor Xbox had even launched at that time and you kind of begin to realise why EA would want to re-release the game for the current crop of hardwa...
Burnout LegendsIt all began in 2001 on the PS2. As if from nowhere, along came a game which shunned glossy graphics and licensed car manufacturers in favour of high speed, sweaty-handed, twitchy arcade race action. Developed by Criterion and published by Acclaim, Burnout had an intensity unmatched at the time, and required total concentration to play, and was so involving that you found yourself unable to blink ...
Stuart Little 3: Big Photo AdventureStuart Little is the enchanting tale of a New York family and their acceptance of their son, a talking mouse. A well-loved American children's book, it was written by E.B. White and illustrated by Garth Williams more than half a century ago. Delightfully, if bizarrely, in the original book Mrs. Little actually gives birth to a small, mouse-like child. The 1999 film of the same name disappointed fa...
