Dragonball Z: Budokai 2, Sony Playstation
One of 2002's greatest Japanese imports, Dragon Ball Z quickly became a phenomenon on children's TV before spreading its wings and venturing into the world of video games. 2002's Budokai game for PlayStation 2 was a Christmas hit, combining faithful Anime style with a simple and playable beat-em-up. A year on, the sequel is ready, and its bigger, better and bolder than ever before. Where its predecessor played host to 23 fighters, Budokai 2 boasts an additional 11 faces, many of which will be familiar to the TV audience. Each have a variety of signature abilities and special attacks, and Budokai 2 also possesses a new Fusion move, whereby two fighters can merge to make play a lot more interesting. Game options include Versus, Tournament and Training modes of play as well as a new Dragon Mode. Here, players join a team of computer-controlled opponents in an attempt to capture seven Dragon Balls. But the most noticeable difference, setting it apart from its year-old predecessor, is the game's visual approach. For this instalment, the developer has rendered the game using the ever-popular cell-shading technique. Some consider this a step back with regards to visuals, but in this instance it works extremely well, making the game look remarkably similar to the Anime original. The game is more spectacular and it has more flair than its predecessor ever did. Dragon Ball Z fans will no doubt fall in love with it.

Disney Triple Pack (Tarzan/Mickey's Wild Adventure/Mulan)Disney's Tarzan Based loosely on its big screen brother, Tarzan has been atmospherically developed, incorporating a number of songs and video clips from the film. The game itself is purely a platform adventure of the linear variety. Here, gameplay entails Tarzan moving either left or right across a 3D environment with no freedom to move in or out of the screen, similar to Pandemonium. Tarzan has b...
LMA Manager 2002Any mad-keen football fan will tell you, if you're willing to listen to them, that they could pick a winning team given their chosen club's resources. If only it was that easy, then we'd all be willing riders on the managerial merry-go-round, changing clubs as if they were sweaty football socks. Codemasters's LMA Manager series entered a crowded market in 1999, and it's testament to the quality of...
The Simpsons SkateboardingIt's a fact that absolutely everyone in the world is in love with The Simpsons, except George Bush Snr who prefers The Waltons. But, as no Waltons Skateboarding game is being released for PlayStation 2, it looks like he backed the wrong horse. It is widely accepted that EA's last Simpsons game, Simpsons Road Rage, was practically a clone of Sega's seminal Crazy Taxi, albeit featuring the colourful...
Hitman: ContractsThe third instalment in Io Interactive's stealthy kill-em-up series continues the cold-hearted and rather sinister traditions of the previous games, again casting you as baldy man Agent 47 as he does what hitmen do best and, er, kills people. Hitman Contracts is not just 'more of the same' however, as, as well as delivering a host more brutal missions, the game also introduces a few new gameplay e...
Disney's Extreme Skate AdventureWe've seen Disney skate-em-ups before in video games, but none are quite as special as this one. Why? Because this one is from Activision and makes use of developer Neversoft's accomplished Tony Hawk's Pro Skater engine. So, Tony Hawks with Disney characters in Disney worlds? Exactly. Following an action style Disney introduction, players begin their adventure by choosing a skater and an arena to ...
