Cabela's Big Game Hunter, Sony Playstation
While controversy is supposedly a bad thing, it helps no end when it comes to video games. Games such as State of Emergency and Grand Theft Auto are among the most memorable. So in a day and age where video game violence is something of a trend, Zoo's Big Game Hunter is really quite timid when you consider the fact that certain games allow players to engage with a common prostitute before beating them with a stick and taking their money back. Yes, Big Game Hunter for PlayStation 2 is indeed a game that charges players with picking off unwitting deer and the likes with a steady sniper rifle. It may not be popular experience to fellow vegetarians, but ultimately, it's just a game - that's all. And as a hunting game it does a fine job of immersing virtual hunters in a game that's just as competitive as the Deer Hunter series of games. It's very much a case of choosing your hunter, choosing your weapon, and taking to the fields for a good bout of hunting. But there are hazards, and should you encounter one of the game's native beasts, you may find your self in a life-threatening situation. Hunting games are generally a rare occurrence in video games, so when one comes along, it's worth a good look. Big Game Hunter is not your typical Gran Turismo or Tekken, but if you put the effort into it, you'll find it to be good fun.

What about the fact th...
Worms Forts Under SiegeThe 1990s phenomenon that was Worms brought a breath of fresh air into PC gaming when it demonstrated how the best games are often the simplest. Since then, the Team17 franchise has seen a respectable number of sequels and spin-offs, but the UK developer's latest venture, Worms Forts, is the first to prove significantly different to others in the series. Where the previous Worms outings were all t...
Kotobuki Grand PrixOne of the industry's more obscure Japanese titles, it comes as a surprise that Kotobuki Grand Prix should make it to European shores at all. But thanks to Midas, the mini-motorbike racer has arrived on PlayStation, it's super cheap and it's a good laugh. There are several bog-eyed and severely deformed characters to play as, all of which have their own background, story and motive for racing in t...
ScalerThough some may consider the 3D platform genre to have been saturated somewhat since the days of Mario 64 et al, it's true to say that without them, interactive entertainment wouldn't be everything it's cracked up to be. That said, the demand for such games is greater than ever, so without further ado, let us introduce Scaler, the latest in the genre for 2004. Affording players some rather unique ...
Pro Evolution SoccerPC's may have their RTS and role-playing games in abundance, but sometimes it seems that it's all football and fast cars on console. That's fair enough, and while driving games have, paradoxically, come to a grinding halt in the aftermath of Gran Turismo 3, football games just keep getting better and better. Well, it all stops right here. Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer rules! And if any soccer titl...
