Death Jr., Sony Playstation
Death Jr. is a novel adventure/platformer that blends elements of a first-person shooter with the exploration factor of an over-the-shoulder perspective platformer, dishing up some deadly intense gameplay and mortally fatal weapon combat. The game stars DJ, the grim reaper's teenage son. He's armed with an outsize scythe, something passed down through his family. It's an heirloom which doubles as a weapon and a platforming tool, along with an arsenal of guns and explosives. DJ has a selection of friends with which to hang out: Pandora is a goth with an unfortunate case of OCD. She can't put her hands on anything without trying to open it; Smith and Weston are brainiac twins, joined at the head; Stigmartha, hilariously enough, is a girl who bleeds from her palms whenever she gets nervous; and The Seep is a foul-mouthed foreign exchange student in a vat. And he's a torso. Delightful! On a field trip to the Museum of Supernatural History, this gang of odd-bods discover a mysterious box. Of course, Pandora's curiosity means that it has to be opened, unleashing ancient demon Moloch and his minions. DJ and his pals have to right the wrongs against all odds, and save the world from impending doom, otherwise he'll be in real trouble with his dad! Death Jr., then. It's dead good.
