Colin McRae Rally 2005 Plus, Sony Playstation
The message sent out by the PSP launch lineup couldn't be clearer. With so many old favourites cropping up, the games companies that have made you so glad you own a PS2 over the years are queuing up to throw their weight behind Sony's new handheld console. And one game that will almost certainly have made you glad you own a PS2, or PS1 for that matter, over the years is Colin McRae Rally, perhaps Codemasters' most well known creation. Now Colin McRae 2005 Plus roars onto the PSP. Even if Colin himself isn't the rally driver to beat these days, this many-sequelled rally game is certainly seen as such. And it's almost as if the beautiful PSP widescreen was made for watching your rally car scream sideways round a gravely mountain hairpin. Alternatively, switch to one of the in-car viewpoints and gasp as letter box or road charges relentlessly at you. There are thirty rally cars to choose from, from the usual candidates from the classic car canon like the iconic Lancia Stratos, to the cutting edge Subarus and Citroens of this season's WRC. Battle your way through a season of one of motorsport's most gruelling championships in Career mode. Or take advantage of your swanky PSP's WiFi capabilities in multiplayer mode. It's astonishing really. When you consider how slick the PlayStation CMR2 looked not five years ago, a time when Mario Kart Advance was considered the pinnacle of handheld gaming excellence, it's staggering how quickly we've come to this. A full-on rally experience so rich in eye candy it'll rot your retinas.

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate EventsBased upon the film equivalent, which in itself is based upon a classic series of children's novels, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is exactly what it says it is, telling the tale of a trio of orphans who live in a world of madness where happiness is far outweighed by sorrow. Depressing as that may sound, the harsh plot of the adventure makes it very easy for a young target audien...
