A proud lion, a voluptuous hippo, a hypochondriac giraffe and a zebra with itchy feet - these are the stars of the Dreamworks SKG feature film, from the same people that brought you the Shrek and A Shark's Tale. The film features the voices of Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett-Smith, and follows the exploits of four animals who escape from Central Park Zoo and pitch up in Madagascar, with the help of their paranoid, conspiracy theorist penguin friends. As you might expect, this summer holiday blockbuster will be accompanied by a multi-platform game spin-off release, and this one is brought to you by Activision, and developed by Toys for Bob. Play as any one of the four main characters through 11 levels that follow them from NYC to Madagascar. Hone your skills as you go, and play as the penguins or loveable Madagascan lemurs in the action packed mini-levels. You'll find yourself racing through the streets of Manhattan, hijacking a ship and exploring the lush African jungle. And the main game is complemented by a selection of three mini-games: Shuffleboard, Tiki Golf and Lemur Rave, a rhythm-based game where the small indigenous mammals just want to get down. Watch as Alex the Lion learns to use his claws and Gloria the Hippo perfects her Butt Smash and Charge techniques. Meanwhile, the intrepid Marty the Zebra will develop his long jump, stealth crawl and fearsome back kick, as only an equine beast can, and Melman the psychosomatically obsessed giraffe will overcome his fears, and master his neck helicopter spin and neck fling, whereby he can launch coconuts and lemurs at foes. So if you're a city animal who longs for a taste of the wild, look out for Madagascar.

NBA Live 2001As a typically American sport, basketball isn't as popular over on British territories as on Western shores. Although basketball does have a presence over here, there is nothing that can compare to America's NBA league; the best in the world. Thanks to Electronic Arts' decision to bring NBA Live 2001 on PlayStation over here, foreign fans of the sport will be able to participate in their own ficti...
Swing Away GolfThe golf simulator is a surprisingly popular genre, although certain games can require a great deal of time and attention before a successful round of golf can be played. Other games often prove to be more popular due to their lack of seriousness, making them more fun to play. Running alongside the likes of Mario Golf of Nintendo 64 and Everybody's Golf on PlayStation is Swing Away Golf - the firs...
Sniper EliteIf you haven't heard of Rebellion then you should have. The distinctly British development house has a nice line in atmospheric First Person Shooters, which they have been producing for longer than many people, with Alien Vs. Predator games being their first foray into the genre. They also own all the rights to legendary British comic book 2000AD and all its characters, and having been responsible...

FA Premier League Football Manager 2000Electronic Arts' already feather-festooned cap has yet another feather in it, courtesy of this comprehensive management simulation. EA's more than worthy addition to the genre offers us a simple introduction to the perils of taking charge of a football team. Simple, that is, in the fact that the game is easy to navigate, but if you think you're going to be a success right from the start, better th...
