Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, Sony Playstation
Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana is a fantasy RPG with platform-gaming elements, and though it is the sixth instalment in this hugely popular series, it is the first to be released in Europe. Immerse yourself within a world of alchemy, monsters and the most incredibly extensive selections of items and item-creating possibilities ever to appear in an RPG. Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana takes you to the world of Regallzine, a land inhabited by humans, Mana, and vicious monsters. With the help of Mana Spirits, a select few can harness the power of alchemy to create magical items. However, over the years this practice has nearly died out. As Klein Kiesling, it's your goal to learn the lost art of alchemy. Klein's journey of self-discovery will soon lead him to join a ragtag band of adventurers who fight monsters to protect the general populace. The game's unique, high-resolution 2D graphics bring the anime-inspired world to life. It's Synthesis system lets you use Mana to create and collect over 300 items. Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana's Synthesis System is all about the use of alchemy. Throughout the game, you can extract elements from a variety of objects, and find items lying around the field maps. Using these elements and items, you can 'synthesise' new items - over 300 in all! You can also synthesise magical items for use in combat. Item collecting is a hallmark of the Atelier series, and with the myriad of item combinations and character customisation options, you'll have unlimited control over the lost art of alchemy. Finally, the 'Cost Turn Battle System' lets you choose from quick, low damage attacks to time-consuming, high damage attacks. It's a simple system, yet adds a great deal of strategy to combat. With this system, you can tailor your attack methods to the enemy you face. It may seem simple at first, but you'll have to use a lot of skill, strategy, and strength in order to overcome your enemies.

Enter the MatrixJust over a year ago, Infogrames announced that it was to publish Enter the Matrix, Shiny's long-awaited pet development. Shiny's veil of secrecy around the content of their game was intriguing and not a little frustrating for those who like their games and films sci-fi flavoured. Twelve months or so down the line, and a publisher name-change to boot, Enter the Matrix enters the fray, tying in wit...
The Simpsons SkateboardingIt's a fact that absolutely everyone in the world is in love with The Simpsons, except George Bush Snr who prefers The Waltons. But, as no Waltons Skateboarding game is being released for PlayStation 2, it looks like he backed the wrong horse. It is widely accepted that EA's last Simpsons game, Simpsons Road Rage, was practically a clone of Sega's seminal Crazy Taxi, albeit featuring the colourful...
