Def Jam Fight For New York: The Takeover, Sony Playstation
A list of recent games claiming to be 'street' would be as big as J Lo's backside. But there is only one franchise that can boast having over 40 real hip-hop stars in their game - Def Jam. The Def Jam franchise makes it portable debut on the PSP, which means you can fight as some of the biggest names in hip-hop where and whenever you want. If you are down with the whole hip-hop scene some of the following names included should role off the tongue: Lil' Kim, Ludacris, Method Man, Redman, Xzibit, Busta Rhymes and Carmen Electra (she's not a rapper! But hey who's complaining? -Ed). The premise behind the story mode is to gain respect by winning fights, rising from the ranks of your crew to ultimately ruling the mean streets of New York City. It doesn't matter how you win a fight, just as long as you win, by using any means necessary weapons, destructible objects and throwing sand. With five different fighting styles (street fighting, kickboxing, martial arts, wrestling, and submission fighting) to choose from there is something for even the most fickle beat'em up fan. There are 24 interactive venues, all full to the brim with rowdy spectators, who are not afraid to join in on the action - so watch your back! It is possible to build your own fighter, kitting him or her out with thousands of pieces of unlockable licensed gear, including Rocowear, Phat Farm, Reebok and Sean John. You can also visit the tattoo parlour and get blinged from head to toe by the jeweler to the stars, Jacob the Jeweler. Def Jam Fight for New York: The Takeover gives gamers the opportunity to take on their homies, or should that be enemies, in a wireless battle mode or 1-on-1 Death Match.
