Batman: Dark Tomorrow, Nintendo GameCube

Kemco, a long-established Japanese developer, has earned itself a reputation for bringing Batman to many of the industry's best-loved consoles. The company is responsible for such games as Return of the Joker and even Catwoman on Game Boy Color, and now Batman is being unleashed on GameCube in Dark Tomorrow. Ah, the eventful Gotham City is again playing host to super villains bent on chaos and destruction. But fear not, fellow gamers, the Caped Crusader is at hand, and fuelled by the need to see justice done, you swing into action. The bad guys don't stand a chance... do they? Essentially a 3D adventure in similar vein to Tomb Raider, Dark Tomorrow focuses on several elements of gaming including platforming, puzzles and combat. Armed with his fluorescent utility belt and almost-super-human abilities, Batman can crouch, sneak, somersault and backflip through levels to defeat oncoming hordes of minions. You can use Batgrapples, Fingerlights and a universal tool to overcome the puzzle and platform aspects of the game, but you'll always need your quick wits and speed about you to stay on top of the situation. Legendary foes such as Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy and The Joker all make welcome appearances, as does the infamous Batmobile. It's a game that, like its predecessors, remains unusually faithful to the TV and cinematic outings of late, and will no doubt be extremely popular with all fans of the Caped Crusader. And promising at least 25 hours of in-depth gameplay plus replay value, it's sure to keep you going for quite some time.
